Mediation
In mediation, two or more parties voluntarily use the assistance of a trained mediator in a good-faith attempt to resolve conflict.
Examples of situations that may be mediated:
- Disputes between co-workers
- Interdepartmental conflicts
- Communication breakdowns or barriers
Mediators help conflicting parties explore their disputes and attempt to reach agreement. Mediators are not counselors, judges, or decision-makers. Instead, they improve communication and provide direction to help individuals in conflict design their own solutions.
