“Improving our understanding of the underlying biology of autism is critical for developing the necessary diagnostic and therapeutic tools that are so needed for successful early intervention.”
- Ilan Dinstein, PhD, UC San Diego Autism Center of Excellence
Autism is a neurodevelopmental disorder that affects social interaction, language and behavior. It typically appears in early childhood. The Autism Center at UC San Diego Health System provides comprehensive clinical services to children and adults with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and their families. The Center is also one of the most prominent autism research centers in the world. We are developing new ways to identify and treat this complex disorder.
Comprehensive evaluations are provided by a multidisciplinary team of clinical experts.
